The Paris Pact Expert Working Group meeting on Cross-border Cooperation was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 5 and 6 October 2022.

The event was conducted in a hybrid format with a full-fledged in-person participation and was organised jointly with the EU Central Asia Drug Action Programme (CADAP) and the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center (CARICC).

The meeting brought together over 100 participants from 28 partner Member States and eight international and regional organizations.

This Expert Working Group meeting was directly related to the Pillar I (Regional Initiatives) of the Vienna Declaration, adopted at the Third Ministerial Conference of the Paris Pact Partners in 2012, which serves as the roadmap for the Paris Pact Initiative. As a result of the deliberations, eight priority recommendations were identified for implementation by Paris Pact partners.

All documents and discussion points are pending endorsement of Paris Pact Initiative’s 16th Policy Consultative Group Meeting (PCGM), confirmed to be organized on 5-6 December 2022 in Vienna
