The Paris Pact Coordination Unit organized an Informal Consultation on the Paris Pact Initiative for the Vienna-based Permanent Missions of the Paris Pact partners in the Vienna International Center on Thursday, 5 October 2023. The Informal Consultation provided an opportunity to receive a briefing on the Paris Pact Initiative and to have a discussion among the Partners in advance of Paris Pact’s decision-making body, the Policy Consultative Group Meeting, to be organized from 11 to 12 December 2023, in Vienna.
In particular, the Informal Consultation was focused on Paris Pact Initiative’s current financial situation, and the need for substantial new donor contributions in order to continue Paris Pact’s activities after 31 March 2024. The upcoming Policy Consultative Group Meeting will serve as a critically important milestone for renewing the donor support and defining the way forward for the Paris Pact Initiative in 2024 and beyond. Official invitation letters for the policy-level meeting will be dispatched to all partner States and Organizations in the coming days.
